A fortnight ago we met, my topper and I. I was blonde, with a short haircut. I became myself again, light brown, with a very nice length (Alice model, base 18×18 cm, 16" long).
My fears were many, and you know what? Noe of them held up.
So here is a little feedback so that your doubts can be dispelled and you too can take the plunge.
Fear #1: It's going to be unpleasant / pulling / scratching / moving.
In fact, not at all. And yet, at the time, a headband or a ponytail that was too high gave me headaches. OK, sometimes a little hair gets caught in a clip, but all you have to do is move it around a bit and it's fine. And no, I don't have to put my topper back in place 15 times a day. I just put it on in the morning and that's it.
Fear #2: I'm going to die of heat down there.
Let's be clear, yes, it's warmer with a topper, especially when you're walking at 30°C. But it's the hair that makes us hot, especially at the nape of the neck. This problem is solved by tying it up with a clip or an elastic band. As far as the base is concerned, it even has a significant advantage: thanks to this protection, the sun no longer hits us on the head. Those who have already experienced sunburn on the scalp will understand...
Fear #3: People will look at me strangely.
Yes, so what? Who cares, right?
I did a great job: I changed my colour and length radically overnight. The people I know and appreciate reacted with great kindness and many compliments. Some of them, who hadn't seen me for a long time, were delighted. It just goes to show that these little silk top wonders really do look super natural!
Fear #4: What colour to choose?
They all look so good on the Comme un diadème website! Which one should I choose? What if I completely mess up the colour scheme?
No need to worry, in fact. At worst, you can give yourself a little touch-up on your organic hair. The shades don't have to be perfectly identical for a natural look. Once the hair is styled, with a pretty barrette or scarf, a little mix can even add a touch of charm.
Fear #5: The choice of base.
This is the only thing I would change, if I could go back. Because of points 1 and 2, I absolutely wanted to take the smaller base (18×18). If I had to do it again, I would go for the bigger one. Because I know now that it's really comfortable, and that way I could better conceal my still short organic hair. So really, don't be afraid of the wide bases.
I hope that this feeling will convince you to leave your fears behind and take the plunge. Personally, I really don't regret it!
Marlene.

Hello, I just watched some of your videos and my hope is reborn. Unfortunately I have short hair and I haven't seen any short toppers . Should I take one a little long and cut it? That would be a shame, so how do I go about it?
Sincerely
Hello,
How short is your hair? If it's a bob, yes, it should be cut slightly.
However, this type of toppers is not necessarily made for very short cuts such as Sophie Davant, Evelyne Dhéliat.
