I receive a lot of messages asking what the 'root effect' option means that can be selected when ordering a hair topper or wig on the site. That's why I decided to explain to you in this article the different types of root effects that Comme un diadème offers.
1) What is a root effect? Definition.
At Comme un diadème, a root effect corresponds to a slightly darker shade at the roots to create a bright and natural contrast between the color of the lengths and ends of the model and that at the roots. The hair topper or wig with a root effect is primarily aimed at women wishing to achieve a natural look with a perfect blend with their hair. For example, root effects will allow you to wear a lighter shade than that of your hair at the roots, which serve as a reminder of your color.
This is, for example, what I chose for the model I wanted to wear on my wedding day. I had indeed opted for an Anaïs model, much lighter than my hair. I therefore created a root effect that echoed my lengths on the model, which thus became the Ana model, perfect for me!
The result was much more natural, and the model blended very easily into a bun with my own hair on my wedding day. This would not have been the case with the Anaïs model. And we know how important it is to feel comfortable on the big day!
The root effect will be particularly appreciated on the light blonde models on the site, which enhances their natural look (Gisèle, Anaïs, Blake). It will also enhance the golden blonde and light chestnut models (Alice, Autumn Leaves, Kate in Brazilian hair, Emma).
On the other hand, it will be much less visible on the dark chestnut models (Meghan, Leïla, Kim). The root effect can be requested to be more or less long and pronounced if you specify it by email on the day of the order.
At Comme un diadème, the root effect is an option (charged at €95) and the product is not eligible for return because we proceed with the request and especially we ourselves create this root effect.
